Compact lamps are harder to get right than tall ones, because the detail has to do more work in less space. The Caspar Wooden Table Lamp 38cm manages it with carved detailing worked into a mango wood base, finished in white so the texture reads clearly rather than getting lost. At 38cm it's genuinely small-space friendly, which makes it a sensible option for a narrow bedside, a bookshelf or a study nook where a full-size lamp would dominate. The cotton shade keeps the light gentle, useful right before sleep. Because the base is timber rather than a hollow moulding, it feels solid on the surface. One E27 globe runs it.
