HFR Keating included \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eGideon’s Week\u003c\/em\u003e in his \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e100 Best Crime and Mystery Books\u003c\/em\u003e. Mystery Writers of America awarded Creasey the Edgar for Best Novel for \u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eGideon’s Fire\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eGideon’s Day\u003c\/em\u003e was dramatized into a film in the late 1950s, and the books became a television series in the early 1960s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eBeyond the twenty-one novels, Creasey (as Marric) wrote a series of short stories featuring the Chief Inspector.
